Community Builds
Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County invites community groups to come together to build homes and build community.
Whether you are part of a workplace, faith community, civic group, or organization, Community Builds offer a hands-on way to make a lasting impact here in East Jefferson County.
At a time when affordable housing remains out of reach for many, coming together as a group to support this work creates something tangible, something lasting, and something shared.
Build Together
Community Builds are an opportunity to step out of your usual roles and work side by side toward a common goal.
Groups often find that time on site is about more than construction. It strengthens relationships, builds connection, and creates a shared sense of purpose.
What to Expect
You do not need any prior construction experience to participate. Just come ready to learn and be part of the day.
- Work alongside experienced Habitat site supervisors on real construction tasks
- Tasks are matched to your group’s comfort level, with guidance provided every step of the way
- All tools, safety equipment, and training are provided
- Lunch and snacks are included
Who Participates
Community Builds welcome a wide range of groups, including:
- Local businesses and workplaces
- Faith communities
- Civic and service organizations
- Clubs, teams, and other community groups
If your group is looking for a meaningful way to give back, this is an opportunity to create real impact together.
Join Us
Building a home is something no one does alone. It takes a community.
When groups come together to build, they are not just building walls and roofs. They are helping create stability, opportunity, and a place for people to put down roots.
We invite your group to be part of that work.
