New Volunteers

At Habitat for Humanity we build homes, communities and hope.

With your help, whole neighborhoods will improve and completely transform. Through this transformation, families will achieve strength, stability, and independence.

New volunteers receive a 30 minute orientation to learn about Habitat for Humanity and our volunteer opportunities. Group orientations are offered several times a month. Register here to participate. If none of these dates work for you, please contact Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County’s Manager of Volunteer Engagement at volunteer@habitatejc.org or 360-379-2827 to make other arrangements. Thank you!

Read about the benefits of volunteering.

Our community has an urgent need for more affordable housing. Volunteers help make more affordable housing possible by supporting Habitat:
      • At our construction sites.
      • In our store.
      • At events.
      • In our office.
      • By joining committees.
Among the many things you can do as a volunteer, one of them is to be a Competent Person.
OSHA’s definition: “Competent Person” means one who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them. (OSHA 1926.32(f))

We provide the training and the tools and we would love to talk to you if you are interested in being a Competent Person or volunteering in any other way. Contact us at (360) 379-2827 or volunteer@habitatejc.org.
